Yellow Tang Reef Fish wall sculpture hand carved
The Yellow Tang wall sculpture is a striking piece for the sea themed home or over an aquarium.
Hand carved by California wildlife artist, Richard Vest, this piece utilizes hard rock Maple as the wood of choice.
The artist uses a yellow acrylic stain to impart the yellow tones characteristic of this salt water tropical fish.
The Yellow Tang has an oval shaped body usually reaching about 2" to 4" in size sometimes as large as 6". It is an active swimmer and has a sharp spine located near it's tail, which is uses for defense.
This is a reef fish found in waters West of Hawaii and East of Japan in the Pacific Ocean. It is also a great fish for the salt water aquarium, fairly hardy and colorful in the tank.
Richard carves this fish approximately 12" x 15" so it is quite striking on the wall. It has a Tung Oil finish with two brass
plated hooks on the reverse, ready for wall mounting.
Each carving has it's own grain, coloring, texture, and personality. All are signed and copyrighted.
Additionally, the artist includes a signed Authenticity Certificate with each work.
All of the artist's work is for indoor display only.
