Twin Moonlight Belugas Wall sculpture hand carved
The Moonlight Belugas Wall Sculpture, hand carved by California wildlife artist, Richard Vest, depicts two
Beluga Whales emerging from the ocean on a moonlight evening.
The moonlight drapes downwards against the red gum wood used for the background.
Each Beluga Whale and the moon are carved in hard rock Maple, a good choice since the coloring is a light whitish cream.
White Stain creates the white caps of the ocean surface against the red gum wood.
Maple is a very hard dense wood and sands well for these belugas giving them a smooth finish.
With a 28" diameter, the piece has a steel bar on the reverse, making it ready for wall mounting.
The piece comes out from the wall 2.5" total.
The artist used Tung Oil for the finish, and is suitable for indoor display only.
