Red Snow Fox Wall Sculpture hand carved
This is Version 1 Red Fox Wall Sculpture, hand carved by California wildlife artist, Richard Vest.
The red fox is the largest of the true foxes inhabiting across the Northern Hemisphere from the Arctic Circle to North America. It can reach 20" at the shoulder and up to 30 lbs. This animal is a keen hunter, sharp and alert.
Richard captures this feeling in a heavy relief round carving in alder wood. He has a great drawing background and it is the rendering of the fox and sky you are seeing in the piece translated to a heavy wood relief piece.
The work measures approximately 26" in diameter, 2" thick with steel brackets on the reverse, ready for wall hanging. It is finished in lacquer, tung oil for the frame.
The artist uses a white, orange, red, and black staining bringing out the colors of the animal. Note the heavily textured sky in the background with dark grayish clouds, a very cold feeling of the of the snow, accentuating the environment of this wild animal.
He uses a dark grey and black granite stone texturing for the sky drawing you in to this cold look.
The piece is for indoor display only, signed/copyrighted. Additionally, a signed Authenticity Certificate accompanies each piece.
Every carving is an original with it's own grain, coloring, texture, and personality.
This wall sculpture has previously sold, however when you order, Richard will carve you a piece with all the color, texture, grain, and movement of the original photo work.
