Orca Whale Wall Sculpture black walnut-Maple
The Orca Whale Version 1 Wall Sculpture, hand carved by California Wildlife artist, Richard Vest, is a very popular piece at exhibitions .
The wall piece measures approximately 12" high x 30" across diagonally with the side flipper coming out about 3" from the wall.
The Killer Whale, or Orca, is a toothed whale belonging to the oceanic dolphin family found in all the oceans. Males can reach 26 feet in length and Females up to 23 feet.
This piece, carved in Black Walnut and hard rock Eastern Maple is very striking over a fireplace, den, hallway, bedroom, or living room couch. Both the Black Walnut and Maple are not veneers but solid 3/4" thick wood.
Each Orca has it's own grain, coloring, and personality finished in hand rubbed Tung Oil.
This wall sculpture has previously sold, however, when you order this whale, Richard will carve you a piece with all the color, texture, grain, and finish of the photo orca.
Each piece is signed/ copyrighted and the artist includes a signed Authenticity Certificate with the work.
Richard has a great drawing background. This is what you are seeing in every piece, setting it off from just a replica to a work of art with personality and an alive feeling.
All of the artist's work is for indoor display only. This wall sculpture has two brass plated saw tooth hangers on the reverse, ready for wall mounting.
The artist also carves a set of twin Orcas and the Mother with Baby Calf Orca. Both of these are also beautiful sets for the Whale lover.
