Mother/Baby Manatees wall sculpture hand carved
Mother and Baby Manatees is such a popular wall sculpture at Richard's exhibitions.
Many customers from Florida always are attracted to this work and many times purchase a set from the artist, although these great mammals are fondly viewed by everyone.
There are some customers who are not familiar with these mammals and are astounded to learn these were sometimes mistaken for Mermaids by the sailors in the past, probably because of the tail flippers and a little too much rum.
This set of Mother and Baby is hand carved in alder wood, facing each other, both having brass plated hooks on the reverse, ready for wall hanging.
Both the Mother and Baby manatee have the characteristic darkened torched eye, a symbol of this artist's work...it shows up in many of his pieces.
The baby manatee measures approximately 7" x 12", while the Mother measures close to 13" x 23"...Each piece the artist carves is an original with it's own personality and grain tones.
The set fits nicely in a space about 30" x 32" but can be rearranged...
All of the artist's work is for indoor display only and each is signed and copyright dated.
Additionally, a signed Authenticity Certificate accompanies the piece.
This wall sculpture has previously sold, however when you order, Richard will carve you a set with all the color, grain, texture, and personality of the original photo work.
