Mahi Mahi Fish Wall sculpture hand carved
California wildlife artist, Richard Vest, hand carves this really neat looking Mahi Mahi Wall Sculpture in Tennessee Red Cedar wood.
This wood is utilized because of the beautiful red tones with yellow sapwood highlights. Approximate measurements, 15" x 36" wide,
with the piece coming out from the wall to the pectoral fin about 5-6"
Finished in Tung Oil, this carving is one of his most popular Ocean Fish besides the Yellow fin tuna, another piece carved in cedar.
The Mahi Mahi is a surface ray-finned fish found off-shore in temperate, tropical, and sub-temperate waters worldwide.
Also known as "dorado", this fish can reach a length of 4.5 feet and up to 49 lbs.
This carving is for indoor display only, has brass plated hooks on the reverse, ready for wall hanging. It is signed and copyrighted. A signed Authenticity Certificate accompanies each piece.
This wall sculpture has sold previously, but when you order this piece, Richard will carve you a fish with all the color, texture, grain and movement of the original photo piece....Grain does vary. He uses a torch to darken fins and the eye, a trademark of his work; the darkened eye.
