Lion fish wall sculpture hand carved in Maple wood
The Lion fish Version 1 Wall Sculpture hand carved by California Wildlife artist Richard Vest utilizes hard rock
Maple as the wood of choice. Richard uses this wood because of it's strength, coloring, and denseness.
All of the artist's work is for indoor display only, each is an original piece with it's own grain, color
striping, and personality. This is a great wall sculpture, so striking on the wall.
Each carving is signed/copyrighted by the artist. Richard includes a neat signed Authenticity Certificate with
each piece.
Tung oil is used for the finish. The work has two steel brackets on the back, ready for wall hanging.
The striping is done with an orange, red, and black acrylic hand painted on the Maple.
This piece measures approximately 20" x 30" with the front fin extending 7 inches or so out from the wall.
The photo carving on this site has previously sold, however when you purchase this piece Richard will carve you a wall sculpture with all the color, grain, and texture of the original photo work.
The artist also carves a smaller version of this piece listed on this site too...
It is very popular at exhibitions, unusual enough finding a home over fireplaces, couches or aquariums
generating many compliments and comments from visiting friends because of the exotic look.
