Great White Shark wall sculpture hand carved
The Great White is a large shark found in the coastal surface waters of all major oceans.
It can reach up to 20 feet in length weighing in at 5000 lbs.
Richard Vest, California wildlife artist loves sharks. They are one of his favorite pieces to carve. He maintains a 500 gallon aquarium and in the late 70's had two grey nurse sharks in the tank which attained a size of over 5 feet. He eventually donated both to Steinhart Aquarium in San Francisco.
This piece, hand carved in Tennessee Red Cedar wood measures approximately 15" high x 26" long, finished in Tung Oil. the pectoral fin comes out about 6" from the wall.
Tennessee Red Cedar is a beautiful wood with it's deep red heartwood and yellow sapwood.
All of the artist's work is for indoor display only and each has hooks on the reverse, ready for wall hanging.
Each carving is an original work. The artist uses a torch to darken the eye- characteristic of all his work.
This piece has previously sold, however when you order the shark, Richard will carve you a piece with all the color, grain, texture, and movement of the original photo work.
The wall sculpture is signed and copyrighted. Additionally, a signed Authenticity Certificate accompanies each piece.
Richard has been carving over 25 years displaying a unique style, quite different from other carvers.
