Flying White Pelican Family wall sculpture hand carved
The Flying Mother and Young Pelicans Wall Sculpture, with a gray white staining, is one of the most popular pieces Richard Vest, California Wildlife artist
carves. The Mother Pelican measures approximately 24" x 31" and the young pelican about 16" x 18". The wings come out from the wall about 6".
These pelicans are finding there way into homes and offices all across the country because of the great design the artist did in his
original drawings. Additionally, many customers have high ceiling and stairwells where these pelicans work out great.
They are visible from a distance, work well even on a white wall and can be arranged in many ways. The birds are hand carved in
Alder wood with mahogany in-laid into the beak area. Each pelican has a brass plated saw tooth hanger on the reverse, making it easy to hang.
The birds have a water based lacquer finish, suitable for indoor display only.
Sometimes customers will place the smaller bird ahead of the larger and change the angle on the hanger in back, thus making the
pelican point more downwards, as if it saw something in the water.
This really creates a dynamic look for the two.
Richard signs each piece/each is an original carving with it's own grain, coloring, texture, and personality.
The artist also includes a signed Authenticity Certificate with the work, a nice touch
These two birds have already sold, however when you order the two Richard will carve you a set with all the color, texture, grain, and personality of the original photo work.
