Offered here is the Baby African Elephant Version 1 Wall Sculpture hand carved in alder wood with a grayish staining. The piece measures approximately 18" x 24" high..
The artist uses the grayish stain tones to simulate the coloring Elephants take on after dusting themselves to keep from getting sunburn.
The artist also carves this baby elephant in the natural alder tones, without the gray staining. If interested contact the artist through "Etsy Conversations".
This wall sculpture shows the baby taking his first steps. At birth baby elephants weigh up to 200 lbs and stand about 3 feet tall.
This piece, suitable for indoor display only has brass plated hooks on the reverse, ready for wall mounting.
Richard signs and copyrights each work and also includes a signed Authenticity Certificate with the carving. The elephant has a lacquer finish.
This wall sculpture has previously sold, however when you order Richard will carve you a piece with all the color, grain, and personality of the original photo work.
Each elephant is an original piece with it's own coloring, grain, texture, and personality.
