African Elephants wall sculpture hand carved
This is Version 2 : Mother and Baby African Elephants.
Richard Vest, California Wildlife Artist, carves this great Elephant set in alder wood with hard rock Maple tusks.
He uses a greyish staining on the Alder to give the elephants a similar look after they
have dusted themselves to keep from getting sunburn.
Elephants are great animals, one of Richard's favorites and he loves carving them.
The public also loves Elephants and many of his pieces have found homes all over the United States.
This set, similar to Version 1 is approximately 34" x 35" and has steel brackets on the reverse, ready for wall mounting. It is finished in lacquer. The artist also uses a torch to darken areas prior to the greyish staining.
This set of two elephants commands the right wall, usually over a fireplace or couch in an African Themed home although it looks great anywhere. Some customers purchase track lighting to highlight the piece...some even purchase green plants which sets off the wood nicely.
All of his sculptures are signed and copyright dated. They are for indoor display only.
A signed Authenticity Certificate accompanies each piece.
This piece has previously sold, however when you order, Richard will carve you a set with all the color, grain, texture, and personality of the original photo work.
