In 1954 TV's first mini -series (although the term hadn't been coined yet) was broadcast in 3 segments on ABC's Disneyland program.
"Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier." Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen starred. The series turned out to be a sensation.
This painting is from the 3rd segment, "Davy Crockett at the Alamo."
Fess Parker had just turned 30 years old when production began.
