Baul, the Ultimate Devotion

The Baul community(balladist), part of the Vaishnava sub-group, worships Lord Narayana or Krishna and is known for their spontaneous musical talent with instruments like the Ektara. Their main livelihood is begging, but they ask for nothing in return for their beautiful songs grounded in Hindu spirituality. Traveling barefoot through rural Bengal, they embody a deep devotion and joy in simplicity, detached from material wealth. Their innocent smiles and freedom have always captivated me, inspiring my artistic expression
