#263 Limited Edition 01/05
This feels like new growth, smudged into a slow, deliberate swirl. Warm, woody browns and creamy beiges form a rough, fibrous backdrop that reads as weathered trunk and inner grain, while bright, almost neon greens twist across the surface like young shoots or moss caught in a current. The greens are glossy and fluid, the browns matte and textured, so the eye keeps slipping from a tactile, papery wood to a slick, almost liquid foliage.
Textures alternate between coarse and smooth: the bark’s ridges are suggested by jagged, marbled streaks, while the lively green strokes are softer and more continuous, like paint dragged across grain. The overall motion is vertical and spiral, as if sap or light is traveling up through the core, carrying vitality. Small pockets of dark shadow anchor the composition, giving a sense of depth and hidden hollows.
Symbolically it reads as quiet resilience — new growth threading through old, decaying material. There’s a modest tension between permanence and movement: the trunk holds history, the neon tendrils promise renewal. It’s intimate rather than monumental, the kind of image that invites you closer to notice the little currents of color and texture rather than stare for grand meaning. Archival Giclee print on museum canvas. Comes with a C.O.A and hand signed by the artist. Custom sizes and AP print available. Limited Edition of 5 only!
