WOODLAND SANTA

Woodland Santa blends textured mixed media with lifelike detail, capturing a rustic, enchanting figure wrapped in natural fur and earthy tones.

Woodland Santa is very much a creature of the forest where he dwells. Although very much human, he has lived with the forests for so long that he is a part of it. Woodland Santa’s eyes are a gentle green, a reflection the rustling leaves of the woods growing around him. He speaks the language of the wind, the whispers of the leaves, and the songs of the birds.
His home in the woods is a small hand built cabin, its walls, almost hidden by climbing vines and moss, it blends seamlessly into the vibrant tapestry of the woods. Every morning, before the sun would rise, Woodland Santa steps outside, a basket woven from willow branches perched on his arm and he would set out into his woods. On his morning walks he doesn’t walk the worn paths of other humans but moves gracefully and silently between the ancient mossy tree trunks. He speaks to the trees as he walks, a low murmur of appreciation for their shade, and their quite strength.
His companions are the creatures of the forest. Squirrels chatter greetings from their branches, knowing his gentle touch means a handful of nuts. Deer watch him with a quiet trust. If a young bird fell from it’s nest, Woodland Santa was the one to gently guide it back to it’s anxious parents. And, if ever a bear was snared, he was the one to patiently work to free it, calming it’s fear with soft words and a steady hand.
Woodland Santa isn’t just a friend to the animals, he is a guardian of the forest itself. He knows which saplings are needing extra care, and which areas are prone to erosion after heavy rains. He spends his days tending to the woods, clearing fallen branches that might block a deer’s path or feeding the soil to ensure the health of the magnificent trees. When humans enter his forest and cut down trees, he always plants new ones in their place, safeguarding the forest ecosystem. Woodland Santa understands that the well-being of the animals and the trees were intertwined, a harmonious dance of life that he is privileged to witness and protect.
Woodland Santa loves to share stores of the forest with anyone who would listen and tells of the hidden gifts they might miss if they only look with their eyes. The connection between Woodland Santa and the animals cannot be broken. Often at twilight you can find them sitting together in the woods, silently watching the stars. Sharing an unspoken bond as the custodians of the earth they all cherish.
