Fiber Artist, Jennifer Shaw
Welcome to my visual world and thank you for viewing my art. A friend once said to me, "I want to see the world through your eyes." My eyes are always seeing things in terms of color, light, contrast, shape and how I can portray it through my art. Prior to felting I worked strictly in oils potraying the theories of impressionism, capturing the atmosphere in natural settings. When I discovered the art of felting it opened up a whole new world of endless creative possibilities. There are so many fibers out there to manipulate with interesting textures and colors. Felting is a very tactile and therapeutic experience. Through the art of needle felting and wet felting I strive to create with wool fibers what I once created with oils.
