Paper Sculpture of a dissected (typical) flower
This was sculpted using white watercolor paper that had been dyed using plant materials. I first created a paper sculpture of the flower from cheaper paper in order to create a template for this one. When I had completed the template process, I then traced the parts onto the watercolor paper to cut out. Laying each piece out on plastic, I soaked the watercolor paper parts in the plant "dye" and left them to dry before assembling the final sculpture. A sample of each of the plant materials used is displayed on the board to the left.
