Lindbergh Namingha (Hopi), born in Keams Canyon, Arizona, hails from the village of Shungopavi, Second Mesa Area in the northeast Region of Arizona.
He is a self-taught, abstract and contemporary painter & Craftsman. His talent comes from their late Grandfather, Otis Polelonema, their Uncle, Tyler and their late father Sidney Namingha Jr.
Since Lindbergh has been away for so long from home, he does his art re-teaching himself the technique styles he remembers. He is working on in perfecting his technique and hopes his influence will expand.
He joined the US Army right after high school. While in the Army, he experimented with different techniques and mediums. Now he concentrates on using acrylics in his paintings and Arts & Crafts.
During his Army tours in the U.S. with duty stations in Kansas and Missouri, he took part in group art exhibitions in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Haskell Indian University, Lawrance, Kansas and at the Northern Arizona Museum in Flagstaff where one of his paintings won an Honorable Mention. And a few artshows in museums in Germany.
Currently living in Berlin, with his supporting wife, Sandra, Lindbergh is creating his art hoping for some positive feedback from Art Enthusiasts and Art Lovers.
Lindbergh (Lim, as he likes to be called) is an „Unknown Artist“. He uses down-to-earth colors on his acrylic abstract, contemporary and mix-media paintings. His choice of subject matters include the traditional symbols of the Hopi Tribe depicting the traditional crop, Kachina, Pottery, ceremonial designs, landscapes and varied still life subjects.
Lim´s paintings and Arts & Crafts convey a memory of his Tribal Traditions, telling a story just beyond reach, soft ground colors drifting and melting together like family …. inviting the viewer to look a bit more closer to see what the relationship is, to take a moment and wonder.
One of the great hopes of Lim in setting up his HopiArt Website is that his HopiArt be of some aspiration and value to people who have interests in any Artworks, or any form of Art, and would appreciate to own a piece of his work.
He hopes anyone who views his HopiArt Works will enjoy viewing his acrylic paintings and Arts & Crafts as much as he enjoys creating them.
If you are interested or „somewhat interested“ in Lim´s HopiArt Works or just have a question about his works, don´t hesitate to contact him at:
