Poetry from My Hometown
This painting, gazing upon a spring time river, draws its inspiration from the Korean poet Kim Ji-ha's "Poem of My Hometown."
The line, "Eventually to return to the universe, my hometown." awakened my memories of springs experienced in the past, and the inner refuge found in the myriad shades of green. In the artistic expression, I used dark green water grass to surround the cave shape of the universe, the girl's suede shoes in the tap, swing, blown by the wind wrinkle miss.
"How far it is from the end of the mountain to the sun, that is where I live." That distance is the length of my missing." -Poems of My Hometown by Kim Ji-ha.
