A Gaze Upon the Ordinary
the flowing daily life beneath, endowing the hard stone with the warmth of observing the human world.
It is a coordinate in time and space, and even more, a witness to everyday life.
Through the shifting dawns and dusks, the turning of seasons, the bustling traffic, and the coming and going of merchant boats, it has watched generations cross the bridge from morning till night, from youth to old age. It remains steadfast, gazing upon this most heartfelt tapestry of daily life.
The damaged stone lion from the Song Dynasty, weathered by erosion and covered in moss, bears witness to the relentless passage of time. I wish to use fun paints within the confines of my canvas to extend new possibilities for it, placing it alongside modern daily life to engage in a dialogue with eternal contemporaneity.
